About EZSportsPick.com - a GoSpanky company.

Founded in late 2006, EZSportsPick.com, a GoSpanky company, is an internet firm focused on smarter and less complicated ways to provide fantasy sport leagues and pools.

How did the concept behind EZSportsPick come about?

It was a late October afternoon in 2006 when a conversation between family members grew about fantasy football. It was the first year we all played fantasy football and there was much to be learned. We started discussing how confusing the drafts can be and the website we were using had put restrictions on individual football players that we just didn't understand. The conversation quickly grew into a "what if" situation. What if we had our own site? What if we got rid of the complicated drafts and salary caps? What if we made it so easy that anyone can play? Thus, the concept of EZSportsPick.com was born.

Over the next year and a half, EZSportsPick.com was developed from the ground up. With little guidance on the overall picture, pieces began to fall into place and a working model had been established. The website had a few bugs and wasn't the most professional looking site but it accomplished the basics of our idea.

We were never really big fans of NASCAR although we had plenty of other family members who loved watching the sport on television. Some co-workers of mine were going to a Nationwide series race in Richmond early May, 2008 and asked if I wanted to come along. I was hesitant at first but they talked me in to going. I asked my father if he wanted to come along as well and he agreed to go with us. We tailgated all day and watched the race at 7:30 that night. It was an experience of a lifetime. From that moment on, we were hooked. We just knew we had to add a NASCAR section to our website on EZSportsPick.com.

We launched EZSportsPick.com for the first time in early 2009— starting with NASCAR season and working our way to the football season. Our first season consisted of just family members and friends. For the NASCAR 2009 season we had a total of nine (9) participants. For the NFL 2009 season we expanded to include co-workers and did a small amount of free advertising through Google AdSense. This generated a client base of roughly seventy (70).

After the 2009 season of NASCAR we made notes on changes and added the concept of the Executive Suite. We did some more advertising in late January 2010 to bring our client base well above 500 and leagues created were over 120. With over twenty-five percent returning every single week to make their new picks, we knew we had a niche. We expanded the Executive Suite to the football leagues and advertise some more for the 2010 football season.

Realizing that our customers enjoy our fantasy sport concept as much as we do, we decided it was time to freshen things up and give the website a new look and feel. The new layout also makes it easier for us to expand into other sports and events such as March Madness and the Stanley Cup.
